The College of Arts and Sciences of Samar State
University hosted the 2nd University Anniversary
last
August 7-9. Dr. Meldrito B. Valles, Dean of the CAS
Department, with the able assistance of CAS Faculty
members,  planned and organized the 3-day activity
on
the theme " SSU in the Mainstream of Rekindling
National Consciousness Through Arts and Culture";
hence, the catchy slogan " WOW PHILIPPINES,
WOW SSU".
Highlights of the activities included the Street
Dancing Parade, the inaugural blessing of the new
Arts
and Sciences Building donated by Sen. Juan S.
Flavier
thru the efforts of Atty. Rudy Quimbo, "Sandiwa" a
cultural presentation by SSU Faculty & Personnel
with
Sol-Gen Eddie Nachura as the Guest of Honor.
